On May 3rd, our coalition made it’s way up to the State Capitol in Albany where they met with several key legislators to demand the passage of the vulture fund accountability bills. The coalition kicked off the day with a presser at the million-dollar staircase in the Capitol where they were joined by State Senator Gustavo Rivera, Assemblywoman Maritza Dávila, and a long list of State electeds from both houses. The coalition bought the community to have more than a dozen legislators that afternoon.
